Bishop Vince: A Monumental Life is a film about the life of Vincent McCauley, C.S.C. McCauley was one of the premier post-colonial bishops in Uganda. He was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa and attended Creighton Prep and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, before transferring to Notre Dame.
He became a Holy Cross missionary first in Bangladesh and then, in his 50s, in Uganda, where he ministered for the remainder of his life. McCauley was the first bishop of the Diocese of Fort Portal in Western Uganda, where his memory is still revered. The Diocese of Fort Portal has introduced his cause for canonization in the Catholic Church.
